Roshni Rai School is an endeavour to make a positive contribution to the society and maximize the use of resources available to Banyan Tree School. We help realize the dreams of children who come from a less privileged background to have a good education.
 

The first step is to motivate parents in the slum colony to send their children to the school complex for education, both formal and vocational. The teachers visit the slums on a regular basis to maintain contact with the parents. The teachers have been hand picked and are well trained. The students are provided with educational kits comprising of text books, exercise books, stationery and uniform. Besides this they are also provided with mid day snacks.

The learning environment at Roshni Rai School is based on providing life skills, social skills as well as reading and writing skills to help them evolve into well adjusted citizens of the country. The classes which are held in a lively and vivacious manner by the teachers, motivate the children not only to learn what is taught but also helps them become a part of the civilized and educated society.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The aim at Roshni Rai School apart from teaching is to organize activities for the all round development of the children. Debates, dances, music, craft, English and Hindi skits, recitation of Sanskrit shlokas etc are some of the other co-curricular activities. Children are also taken on educational excursions like the Rail Museum, for picnics, etc. Medical examination is done once a year for the children. Total hygiene is maintained in classrooms. Children are also given environmental and moral education.

Teachers use child centered approach and students are given individual attention and the progress and development of each child is monitored. Worksheets on each subject are made from time to time by teachers. Parent teacher meetings are held thrice a year. VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Another objective of Roshni Rai School is to impart vocational training to young girls and women to help them become self sufficient and financially independent. They are given training in tailoring and embroidery. They are then equipped to take up assignments with tailoring units.
